Happy Tuesday!

I hope everyone enjoyed Memorial Day. I worked out first thing Monday morning and then worked in the yard for an hour or so. I was exhausted all day Sunday and Monday and not sure why. I actually did something I normally do not allow myself and took a nap that afternoon.
Today, I ran for 30 minutes and finished by doing some hills. I am now cleaning house (which I hate!). Unfortunately, I need to get ahead on cleaning because I do not see much time to do so in the near future once this Youth Camp begins.

Not so raring today!

I was not at my best today, if you could not already tell. I am not even sure what my time was (over 2 hours:() It seemed my energy gave out on me after I hit the 4 or 5 mile marker. I guess I will just try and work harder this week and jump back in next week for the fun and loving 11 miles!!!!!!!!!!!
I look forward to seeing you guys then.
Happy training:)

Carbed up & raring to go...

which we will see if that statement is still true tomorrow. :) I am nice and full from eating at the Macaroni Grill with several other Marathoners. This will definitely have to become an occasional ritual before the longer runs.
Well, so much for trying to run hard. My knee is still giving me some problems. I am continuing to stretch and take it easy so I can hang in there on the longer runs. This week I have not pushed myself hard at all. I hope I can do better next week.

Moving along...

slowly if I do say so myself. Yesterday, I walked for 53 minutes with Tom at a fast pace. I was trying to take it easy on my left knee. Today, I wanted to get in some speed work and so I did. I started out running for 5 minutes and walked 1. Then I ran slowly for 30 seconds then fast for 30 seconds repeating until I hit my first mile marker. I walked for 10 minutes at a fast pace foll0wed by repeating the 30 second fast and slow increments on the return trip home which was a mile. I honestly thought my first mile would be faster but my second one was 9:30 compared to my first 10:36 mile.
I am again looking forward to running Thursday and Saturday. I can't wait to see how Saturday turns out. Does that make me crazy?

Oh, almost forgot. I went by Indian Cycle and got fitted for a bike to cross train with. I pick it up tomorrow.

Hope I am not the only one worn out!

I have been negligent in my blogging as you can tell. I am exhausted from the 9 mile run this morning. I have been trying to sneak in a nap all day and have not been fortunate enough to get one in due to interruptions from either Madison or Tom (mostly Madison, the dog). Well so much for that. If I do succeed at this time I will never get to sleep tonight and I like my rest. J
Today’s run was not too awfully bad. I beat my time from last week by running the course in 1 hour and 35 or so minutes. Oh, I listened to Cheryl about the Illioid T***** (knee pain) something or other regarding knee pain plus what Mark said and it worked. I finally added ice to the regime! I know I was supposed to do the cold bath and ice after these long runs, but just haven't gotten up the nerve. I did try once but failed miserably. Hope you guys have better luck on the ice baths. I will stick to icing my knees!!!

Running is so much fun...

I really enjoyed Saturday and wanted to thank Jep, Sam, Liane (probably mispelled) and Christie for being great running partners. 9 miles is not as much fun when you are by yourself. I think I am going to make it my Saturday challenge to learn more about those I have not already met or haven't gotten a chance to speakwith yet. I am horrible with names, but names do not seem so difficult when I have been running along side of someone for several miles or even minutes and Iget a chance to speak with you guys personally.
Well, I followed my parents back to Kentucky after our morning Saturday run and a quick shower. Boy, was I stiff after riding in a car for 7 and a half hours. I had my Boston Terrier, Madison for a companion though. Unfortunately, she was not that talkative or interested in staying awake for the ride.
Well, so much for taking up time. I am off to Bowling Green to go shopping with my sister and then later today I am going to head to the park and get in some wogging......

Taking it easy...

I hate to talk about aches and pains but here goes. I am taking it easy on my knees........they are still bothering me. I did not get in my 8 miles this weekend but did walk 2.4 on Sunday and Monday. I am going to take it easy again on Tuesday and then try to jump back in on Thursday or Saturday. I started taking Glucosamine Chondroitin to see if that helps. The pain is not horrible just uncomfortable and I don't want to do actual damage. I'm going to take it easy for a week or so and see how I feel. My right knee is the main issue. I would rather slow down a little right now than get injured and be unable to make it to the marathon.
I AM A MARATHONER!!!!!!!!!!
(If anyone has any suggestions I am listening.)

We did Lakeshore again!

It is so much more fun when you have others with you. It is more motivating. Debbie, Debra, Suzie and myself met again at Lakeshore to get in our 50 minutes. We actually went a little over because we did the five mile route, but it was fun.
We are going to meet again next Thursday if anyone else would like to join us. The more the merrier!

Wogging along...mostly the w.......

Yesterday I did a run/walk with my hubbie for 47 minutes. I ran a faster pace when I was actually running. Did more walking than usual though. The heat was a killer yesterday so today I thought I would do the smart thing and get up early. I sort of got up early? 7ish... I ran/walked for 50 minutes (mostly walking). I was a bit sore today and my knees were killing me verses my shins. I am continuing to stretch a lot through out the day.
