All women must read Marathon Woman. It is written by Katherine Switzer, the first woman to officially enter the Boston Marathon. She was at the forefront of women's running and events.
Cool video from 3Doors Down! Check it out. Of course I am biased so be forwarned.

Happy Halloween!
Things are moving along. I hate that I am missing our Saturday runs. Last Saturday was my mother's 60th B-day so Tom and I were in KY celebrating with her. This Saturday I am going to be at Shiloh National Military Park for a mandatory staff ride. I am semi looking forward to it. Then again, not. I cannot wait for a Saturday when I can actuallly attend! Sad, huh. Happy Running!

Whew! Running today
Today is the first day I have ran since Chicago due to a sinus infection. Yuck! It hurt a little more than I thought. My legs did fine, just my breathing. I am looking forward to Saturday and our Post-Chicago Run for those who are doing MS Blues. We are marathoners!

Can you believe it?
A week ago today we were in Chicago upset over the Marathon being closed early. Now a week later...in better spirits...we are in MS thinking about doing a half or full marathon! The Blues is just around the corner and we are MARATHONERS! I am looking forward to seeing those continuing training next week.

Chicago was great! with a few bumps along the way, but we got there and started which is more than I can say for most. What a great accomplishment! I am so proud of us. I have bragged all week about Marathon Makeover and its participants. I am also glad that we are adding another chapter to our lives by committing to the half or full MS Blues Marathon. I have to say thank you to everyone I have met along the way. You guys have kept me going this whole time.

Great Job!
Everyone did such a great job on Saturday. I had to start early in order to be able to grab a shower and get to Meridian for a Pre-Command Course. I was planning on stopping on my way to Meridian for the shower but ended up rushing home. I was afraid that I would not be able to walk if I waited that long. It hurt to even walk to the car. It ended up working well. I did okay until the last 4-5 miles. I only did around 20 miles Saturday due to timing issues. Amazingly I was able to stay awake through 4 hours of powerpoint presentations! YEAH.

I got up at 5am!:)
I finally did it again! and no I am not Brittany Spears. I actually got up at 5am and did my workout. I am hoping to do it again and again. Oops! I have been saying I am going to get up and get my workout out of the way, but it has not been happening. My motivation was my Saturday run. I felt it was not the greatest so I am trying to make the best of what time I have left. I figured if I do not allow the day to get in the way (you know how things add up) and not being allowed to use the heat as an excuse that I would do better about getting my time in. We will see if this is a short trend or long one.
IT DID FEEL GREAT, once I was out of the bed. I set enough time to get my workout in and I was not thinking of all the things I had to get done before bedtime (like usual). My only thinking was one interval at a time. I did 3:2 intervals after I found 4:1's were a little rough after Saturday.
